Job summary

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking an enthusiastic Injury Prevention Coordinator to join our Community Services team in Auckland. The role delivers child safety and injury prevention programmes, coordinating activities, educating whānau, and building relationships with local partners to improve outcomes for tamariki.

The role involves in-community delivery, virtual coordination, stakeholder management, travel around the region, and a commitment to pro-equity, culturally responsive practices.

Qualifications

Te Whiwhingamahi | The opportunity

Whānau Āwhina Plunket is seeking an enthusiastic and community focused Injury Prevention Coordinator to join our Community Services teams acrossAuckland. This role plays an important part in delivering child safety and injury prevention programmes that support whānau, strengthen communities, and contribute to better outcomes for tamariki.

Working alongside whānau, volunteers, community partners, clinical and community teams, you’ll coordinate and deliver injury prevention initiatives, provide practical education and support, and promote child safety messages across your region. This includes supporting child restraint installation services, facilitating community education sessions, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders to increase access to injury prevention support, particularly for priority Māori and Pacific populations and communities experiencing greater inequities.

This role is permanent part time, 28hours weekly. No two days will look the same. You’ll spend part of your time out in the community delivering programmes and supporting whānau, while also working virtually to coordinate initiatives, manage stakeholder relationships, and plan future activities.
