Job summary

Concrete Structure Investigations (CSI) in Auckland is seeking an Infrastructure Investigation Technician to inspect existing concrete structures and infrastructure assets such as bridges, wharves, and water systems. You will work at the intersection of construction, engineering, technology, and assessment, performing field investigations and data analysis.

You will employ GPR, Ferroscan, ultrasonics, and other NDT tools while collecting data and preparing reports for engineers and asset owners.

Responsibilities

  • Utilise GPR, Ferroscan, ultrasonics, and other NDT technologies to gather data.
  • Collect accurate field data and assist in asset assessments.
  • Process and analyse field data for clear reporting.
  • Prepare concise reports for consulting engineers and asset owners.
  • Support development of new technologies within NDT and structural investigations.

Concrete Structure Investigat.ions – North Shore, North Island

The Infrastructure Investigation Technician will be involved in investigating existing concrete structures and infrastructure assets, including bridges, wharves, buildings, water infrastructure, and other critical assets. This role operates at the intersection of construction, engineering, technology, and infrastructure assessment.

Key responsibilities
  • Undertake practical site work including concrete coring and sampling, construction anchor testing, low strain pile integrity, structural investigations, and condition assessments of concrete structures
  • Utilise specialised non-destructive testing technologies including Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Ferroscan reinforcement mapping equipment, ultrasonics, and emerging and advanced NDT technologies
  • Collect accurate field data and assist in the assessment of structural assets
  • Process and analyse field data
  • Prepare clear and concise reports for consulting engineers and asset owners
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies within the NDT and structural investigation sector
