Job description

Influencer and Content Creator Strategist

We’re one of NZ’s fastest growing independent agencies, and we’ve built an agency for the future, with people at the centre of it. As AI rises, we believe human connection and human craft will only become more valuable, which is a big part of why our influencer and content creator arm is one of our fastest growing divisions.

We work with some of NZ’s biggest, most exciting businesses, and we run campaigns all over the world too, from NZ to Australia, London, the Middle East and France. Our purpose is to create connections that build communities and shape culture, with seven connected specialist departments under one roof, from creative and media to social and analytics.

What we’re looking for

We’re leaders in this space in NZ, and we want to keep growing and leading across APAC. We’re looking for a leader who can produce world class work for our existing clients, and who also has an eye on the future, driving our creator and influencer division across The Social Club and People of Influence to stay on the edge of the wave.

You will own your clients from start to finish. This means setting the strategy, negotiating with the talent, delivering the campaigns, then reporting on results. The client relationship is yours to nurture. You will have the confidence to put a point of view in front of a client and stand behind it.

Key Responsibilities

Across a portfolio of clients, you’ll lead creator and influencer strategy, talent and delivery. Your day to day will involve:

Setting the creator strategy and bringing the client on the journey, inspiring and educating as we go.

Identifying, vetting, and negotiating talent, and owning those relationships.

Managing our exclusive talent management arm, People of Influence.

Managing campaign delivery, budgets, and timelines end to end.

Pitching new business, writing and presenting creator and influencer ideas to prospective clients.

Tracking revenue, hours, and margin against agreed budgets.

Accountabilities

Creator Strategy: Build evidence-backed creator strategies across the portfolio, set the tiering and selection frameworks the rest of the team runs, and plan creator work as part of the integrated idea with social, creative, and media.

Talent and Roster: Identify, vet, and negotiate with creators and their representatives, here and offshore. Run the People of Influence signed roster and grow the wider network so the right person can be found for any brief, fast.

Campaign Delivery: Manage SOWs, approvals, shoot logistics, runsheets, and activations through to live, and report results as insight the client can act on.

Commercial: Scope creator programmes with the account lead, negotiate deliverables and usage rights, track budgets and margin, and grow the accounts you hold.

New Business: Write and present creator and influencer pitches, bringing a clear point of view into the room to win new clients and grow existing ones.

Compliance: Make sure every piece of content meets NZ advertising standards, disclosure requirements, and platform policy before it publishes.

Your Skills and Experience

You must have a minimum of 3-8 years' experience in influencer marketing, creator partnerships, or social media at an agency, brand, or talent business. In addition to this, we prefer candidates who have the following:

A track record of running creator programmes from strategy through to results, not executing someone else's plan.

The ability to assess a creator on audience data, content quality, and brand fit rather than follower counts.

Confidence negotiating fees, usage rights, and exclusivity with talent managers and agencies, and the judgement to walk away.

Working knowledge of NZ and Australian advertising standards and disclosure requirements for influencer content.

Calm under pressure, and good at guiding people across teams without managing them.

Big, forward-thinking ideas, with a real curiosity for international trends and how they could be brought to life for our clients.

A genuine love for content creators and influencers, and real passion for where they’re headed.

What Success Looks Like

Our work is world class and makes an impact on our clients' success.

We’re known as the go-to content creator and influencer agency across NZ and Australia.

Clients love working with you and trust you with their strategy and money.

Your creator recommendations are bold, engaging and backed by data, and clients can’t wait to get behind them.

Campaigns land on time, on budget and get people talking.

You get our clients great rates, usage and added value they can actually see.
