Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora’s Community Child Health Team at Waitakere Hospital seeks a Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist for a fixed-term parental leave position (1.0FTE, open to part-time). You will provide developmental therapy to infants and young children in home or community settings, in partnership with families.

The role operates in a transdisciplinary paediatric team, offering supervision and opportunities for professional growth while delivering family-centred care aligned

Qualifications

• Current APC registration as a NZ physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
• Knowledge of neonates, early child development and neurology.
• Full NZ driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental therapy in the home or community for infants and young children (0–2 years).
• Work within a transdisciplinary paediatric community team.
• Plan and deliver care with families/whanau in home or community settings; support family-centred care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development with regular supervision.
