Job summary

Job description

Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist 1.0FTE - Fixed Term role. Full or part time FTE considered.

We are looking for an experienced Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist to join our Community Child Health Team based at Waitakere Hospital in a fixed term parental leave position that is available through to July 2027. You will need to have current or recent clinical experience in the New Zealand Health Sector working with infants and young children as a developmental therapist and hold a current APC as a qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist. The role is to provide developmental therapy in the home or community setting for infants and children (0-2 years), in partnership with their family/whanau. Knowledge and experience in the areas of neonates, early child development and neurology is essential. Whilst the role is full time (1.0FTE), we would be open to applicants requesting part time hours. You will be joining an experienced and highly skilled multi-disciplinary paediatric community team who are committed to innovative best practice in the context of child-focussed/family centred care, that is based on the family and childs strengths and goals. About the Role

As a Visiting Neurodevelopmental Therapist in the Community Child Health Team, you will be working in a transdisciplinary model, to provide developmental support to infants and young children (0-2 years) with a wide range of developmental difficulties. You will be based in the Child Health Unit at Waitakere Hospital, from where you will connect with whanau and colleagues to plan and provide care in the home or other community setting. You will have opportunities to grow in skill and knowledge in this role and be provided regular supervision to support your ongoing professional development.
