Contract Industrial Trainer / Assessor – Auckland & Northland
NZ Safety Blackwoods is seeking an experienced Contract Trainer / Assessor to support our Worksafe Training team across the Auckland and Northland region. This is a flexible contracting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering practical, high-quality workplace safety training that helps businesses keep their people safe and meet compliance requirements.
Worksafe Training is an NZQA-accredited private training establishment delivering critical health and safety courses throughout New Zealand. Our key course areas include; Height Safety, Confined Space, Elevated Work Platforms (EWP), Permit to Work, Fire Safey and Health & Safety courses.
In this role, you will deliver and assess NZQA standards and customised workplace training for a range of key customers across large industry sectors. You will represent NZ Safety Blackwoods and Worksafe Training professionally when working with customers, learners, account managers, and internal teams to ensure training is delivered to a high standard and administrative requirements are completed accurately.Other key competencies of this role are;
You will be Auckland-based, confident working independently, and comfortable travelling across the region as required. You may already have experience delivering training in one or more of our key course areas, such as Height Safety, Confined Space, Elevated Work Platforms, Permit to Work, Fire Safety, or Health & Safety. You may bring broader industry knowledge, practical workplace experience, strong facilitation skills, and a genuine commitment to safe work practices.
The ideal Contract Trainer will be able to deliver engaging, practical, and industry-relevant training, adapting your approach to suit the experience, knowledge, literacy levels, and workplace environments of learners. This role requires someone who can facilitate discussion, share relevant workplace examples, respond confidently to learner questions, and customise learning activities while still meeting course outcomes and assessment requirements.
