Job summary

Carter Holt Harvey is seeking a self-motivated maintenance tradesperson for the Kawerau Mill in New Zealand. You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant equipment, troubleshoot faults, and collaborate with production teams to improve reliability.

The role requires strong mechanical ability, experience with industrial machinery, and a solid Health & Safety mindset. Competitive benefits and opportunities for skills development are provided.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated fitting experience in an industrial/mill environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong focus on Health & Safety practices.
• Able to work well within a team.
• Machining and welding experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your own area, performing preventative and reactive maintenance tasks on plant equipment and machinery.
• Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Planning and executing corrective maintenance, to maintain plant reliability and minimise downtime.
• Completing work to a high standard utilising best practice.
• Work closely with the production teams to improve equipment reliability and drive optimisation.
• Maintain and update records including bills of materials, PM’s, manuals, drawings and SAP/Business Central records.
• Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.
• Quality assurance of any work carried out by external contractors.
