Job summary

Kraft Heinz Company is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technician for our Tomoana site in Hawke's Bay. You will perform electrical repairs, install and calibrate equipment, and support maintenance programs across production lines.

Ideal candidates are NZ EWRB-registered electricians with FMCG/manufacturing experience, strong fault-finding skills, and knowledge of PLC/automation, SCADA, and CMMS systems. A proactive team player with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• NZ EWRB registered electrician with current practising licence.
• Industrial electrical experience, ideally in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of sensors, machine timing, safety systems, and automation.
• Computer literacy (MS Office, CMMS, PLCs, SCADA).
• Ability to work independently and in a team under pressure.
• FMCG or manufacturing industry experience.
• PLC/automation software knowledge (Rockwell or equivalent).
• Experience with predictive maintenance and continuous improvement.
• NZQA Level 4 Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• LOTO certification (or willingness to complete within first month).
• Current, clean NZ Driver’s Licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Diagnose faults on motors, sensors, safety systems, and industrial controls.
• Install, maintain, and calibrate electrical equipment and machinery.
• Record labour, work orders, and parts usage in CMMS.
• Support predictive maintenance and condition monitoring activities.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and automation systems.
• Assist commissioning and integration of new control systems.
• Ensure electrical drawings and schematics are accurate.
• Provide training and guidance to apprentices when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and energy efficiency.
