Job summary

Industrial Controls South Canterbury Ltd is seeking a hands-on lead electrician to manage day-to-day reactive electrical service work, planned maintenance and small projects across industrial client sites. 70% on the tools, 30% coordinating and supporting the team, with a focus on strong client relationships.

You will work alongside electricians, ICE techs, apprentices and engineers, driving fault finding, safety and efficient delivery while mentoring junior staff and coordinating workloads in a

Qualifications

• New Zealand Registered Electrician with current practising licence.
• Strong industrial electrical experience across service, maintenance, fault finding and installation.
• Experience coordinating jobs, priorities and people within a busy industrial service environment.
• Collaborative, can-do approach when working with teammates, clients and other contractors.
• Full NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence; experience in instrumentation, hazardous areas, machine safety or electrical inspection would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver reactive breakdown, planned maintenance and small electrical project work across industrial client sites.
• Plan and coordinate daily and weekly workloads, balancing priorities, team capability and available resources.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across fault finding, testing, commissioning and issue resolution.
• Ensure jobs are properly prepared, safely delivered and closed out with accurate CoCs and notes.
• Coach and support electricians, ICE technicians and apprentices, helping develop technical capability and safe work practices.
• Build strong client relationships, scope and quote small maintenance and project work, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
