Job summary

Whitney Street School seeks a qualified Early Childhood Education Teacher for a part-time Visiting Teacher role in the Marlborough/Nelson region. The role involves leading and supporting a network of home-based Educators and Nannies, with travel across the region to provide guidance and professional development.

Ideal candidates will hold a Diploma of Teaching and an NZ Education Council practising certificate, with experience in leading adults, mentoring, and strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience leading adults, including mentoring and coaching.
• Ability to travel within Marlborough/Nelson region to support Educators.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership and support to in-home Educators/Nannies and Au Pairs.

• Wanted: Qualified, fully registered Early Childhood Education Teacher
• Join our Home-Based Early Learning Service Team, as a Visiting Teacher.

If you are passionate about home-based childcare and enjoy Variety and Flexible working conditions in a fun environment, you will enjoy this role providing professional leadership and support to our in-home Educators.

This role is part time starting on 15 hours per week with the opportunity to increase as the network grows. This permanent part-time position would be based in the Marlborough/Nelson region. The successful applicant would need to be prepared to travel around the regions to support our Educators and team.

Genius Early Years is looking for someone who has:

• an early childhood teaching qualification (minimum Diploma of Teaching)
• current full NZ Education Council practicing certificate
• experience in leading adults, including mentoring and coaching
• a full clean NZ driver's license.
• knowledge of professional practice in early childhood education
• understanding of Ministry of Education legislation.
• ability to juggle a varied workload
• excellent time management skills
• self-motivated and enthusiastic
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• ability to build and maintain professional relationships
• experience with learning stories, programme planning and some administration.
• good computer skills.

Our Visiting Teachers provide support and guidance to our wonderful group of home-based Educators/Nannies and Au Pairs, providing excellent early learning outcomes for our Tamariki and whanau. Experience in leading adults and Home-based childcare an advantage.
