Job summary

Te Kura Tuarua o Taraika ki Pukeahu (WHS) is seeking a Teacher Aide to join the He Kākano team for Term 1, 2027. The role is 28 hours per week, term-time only, exclusive of annual leave, and supports ORS funded students in mainstream classes.

Start date depends on police vetting clearance. The successful applicant will work with students with complex intellectual and behavioural needs across subjects, and may supervise breaks and provide one-to-one care for feeding and toileting when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with intellectual and behavioural needs.
• Patience, resilience, adaptability, and willingness to learn.
• Experience with autistic spectrum conditions is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support ORS funded students in mainstream classes and in He Kākano.
• Provide supervision at breaks and one-to-one care for feeding and toileting as needed.
