Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Merchandising Specialist for an on-site role in Queenstown, NZ. You will implement visual merchandising plans, manage stock on shelves, and build relationships with store managers to maximize sales and brand visibility.

The position involves regular travel to retail locations, attention to detail, and a strong eye for product presentation within the FMCG sector.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in retail merchandising or visual display
• Strong understanding of merchandising principles and visual presentation
• Excellent attention to detail and a creative flair for product display
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with store staff
• Ability to work independently and travel across multiple locations
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move products
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly in Queenstown area

Responsibilities

• Implement visual merchandising strategies and planograms for optimal product presentation
• Ensure products are stocked, neatly arranged, and displayed according to brand standards
• Monitor shelf inventory and communicate restocking needs
• Build and maintain positive relationships with store managers and staff
• Ensure all promotional materials and POS displays are properly implemented
• Gather feedback on product placement, competitor activity, and customer response
• Report merchandising execution, shelf conditions, stock levels, and challenges
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in retail environments
• Identify opportunities to improve product visibility and sales through merchandising techniques
• Represent the company professionally in various retail settings
