Waikato Hospital, Critical Care - Hamilton, New Zealand Join Waikato Hospitals expanding ICU serviceclinical, academic, and teaching opportunities, plus generous benefits and relocation support.

Hours: 40 hours per week (1.0 FTE) + on-call Remuneration: NZ$250,000 NZ$380,000+ depending on qualifications and experience.

About the Role Waikato Hospitals Intensive Care Unit is undergoing significant expansion this year, and we have exciting opportunities for single- or dual-trained Intensivists to join our evolving service. This is a dynamic time to contribute to a growing department with a strong focus on clinical excellence, education, and innovation. In addition to your clinical role, youll have opportunities to pursue academic and research interests, and to support the training and development of both junior and senior medical staff.

About our Critical Care Department The Critical Care Department at Waikato Hospital is the tertiary provider for Intensive Care to the Midland region of New Zealand. As a tertiary referral centre, our 16-bed state-of-the-art ICU provides all major tertiary services: Major traumaCardiac surgery (second largest in NZ)NeurosurgeryRegional burnsBusy general and paediatric intensive care We manage around 1,500 ICU patients and nearly 3,000 HDU patients annually and operate an air and road retrieval service for both critical care and a large contingency of cardiac patients.

Clinicians joining our team will have opportunities to pursue academic and research interests, and to contribute to the training of both junior and senior medical staff. Subspecialty interestsincluding cardiac, paediatrics, and academiaare supported and welcomed. The unit is credentialed by the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) at C24 level.

Living and Working in the Waikato Waikato Hospital, located in Hamilton, is New Zealands largest tertiary teaching hospital and the regional hub for the Midland area, serving over 840,000 people. With 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and advanced diagnostic facilities, it provides comprehensive care and is affiliated with the University of Auckland, University of Waikato, and Wintec. The hospitals Waiora Campus supports both road and air ambulance services, making it a centre of excellence in clinical care, education, and research. About You Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role: Hold or be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the scope of practice of Intensive Care Medicine and must be of good standing.
