Job summary

GHD in Christchurch is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water team as part of the Graduate cohort commencing February 2027. You will work on water supply, wastewater and stormwater projects, contributing to pipelines, pump stations and renewals while developing your engineering and consulting skills.

We’re looking for graduates finishing by end of 2026 with a Civil Engineering degree, strong communication and teamwork, and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Graduated, or to graduate by end of 2026, with a Civil Engineering degree.
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Based in Christchurch or willing to relocate and start February 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support water supply, wastewater and stormwater projects including pipelines and pump stations.
• Assist with site investigations, data analysis, hydraulic modelling and engineering calculations.
• Contribute to drawings, specifications, cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams to build technical capability and consulting skills.
