Job summary

ANDRITZ Hydropower is seeking a Trades Assistant to join the Maraetai Power Station project near Taupo. You will assist trades staff with unpacking, cleaning, checking, disassembling and reassembling mechanical and electrical equipment on a major hydro project.

Applicants should have an interest in mechanical and electrical work, be safety minded, and be ready to upskill. NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa is required; training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in mechanical and electrical trades is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety procedures in a regulated environment.
• Willingness to upskill and learn in a hands-on role.

Responsibilities

• Assist trades staff to unpack, clean and check, disassemble and reassemble equipment (mechanical and electrical).
• Keep tools organized and maintained on site.
• Follow instructions accurately in a safety-sensitive environment.
• Contribute to site safety and maintain a clean, tidy workplace.
• Overtime may be available on some Saturdays; training provided as needed.
