Job summary

InterGroup in Tauranga is seeking an experienced Class 4 Driver / Operator to join our Tauranga Infrastructure team. This hands‑on role involves operating heavy vehicles, hydro excavation, and other infrastructure work across Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty.

You will drive and operate Class 4 specialist vehicles, perform hydro excavation with high‑pressure water and vacuum systems, and support drainage and maintenance work.

Qualifications

• Current Class 4 driver’s licence is required.
• Experience operating heavy vehicles or specialist equipment is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and cross-skill across operations is essential.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate Class 4 specialist vehicles.
• Hydro excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems.
• Vacuuming waste, sludge and other materials.
• Support drainage, sump and infrastructure maintenance.
• Set up and pack down equipment.
• Complete vehicle and equipment checks.
• Carry out hands-on work on site.
• Work safely around roads, excavation areas, waste and potentially contaminated materials.
• Work as part of a crew and independently when required.
