Job summary

Contact Energy Ltd, based in Canterbury, New Zealand, seeks an Engineer, Controls and Instrumentation to support day-to-day operations and lifecycle management of hydro assets. You will contribute to reliable, safe, and efficient generation across the South Island, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers.

You will grow into a subject matter expert, applying strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to adapt to evolving technology.

Qualifications

• Engineering foundation and a degree in engineering.
• Experience in Control & Instrumentation, functional safety or asset lifecycle processes.
• Bonus: project management or contract management experience.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of hydro assets and lifecycle management.
• Lead improvements in technology and processes across the generation systems.
• Provide trusted engineering advice; handle projects, outages and system changes.
