Job summary

Base Construction on Christchurch is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our close-knit team and drive commercial excellence across residential, commercial, and civil projects.

You'll handle estimating, tendering, monthly claims, variations, cost-to-complete forecasts and final accounts, splitting time between the office and site to stay on top of on-ground realities. NZ driver licence required.

Qualifications

• Minimum QS experience in NZ construction, concrete or civil advantageous.
• Solid understanding of NZS 3910 contracts and standards.
• Experience with progress claims, variations and final accounts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process end-of-month progress claims and reconciliations.
• Site measurement and verification of completed works.
• Price, track, and manage variations and change orders.
• Monitor costs, revenue, margins and cost-to-complete forecasts.
• Review drawings and perform take-offs for concrete, reinforcing, formwork and labour.
• Prepare and submit tenders and manage clarifications with clients.
