Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced HSE Coordinator based in New Zealand, Wellington or Auckland, to support the delivery of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across projects. The role focuses on implementing HSE programs, incident investigations, risk controls and audits while promoting a positive safety culture.

You will work with staff and leaders to ensure compliance with legislation and company requirements, coordinate training and communications, and report on HSE performance to drive

Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years' experience in an HSE Coordinator or similar role
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice
• Experience supporting HSE systems, risk management processes, and incident management
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE programs and initiatives
• Assist with incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities
• Coordinate health and safety systems, records, and documentation
• Support risk assessment processes and the implementation of risk controls
• Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance activities
• Provide guidance and support to staff and leaders on HSE matters
• Coordinate training, awareness programs, and HSE communications
• Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics and trends
• Promote a positive safety culture across the business
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support continuous improvement and compliance with legislative and company requirements
