Job summary

Aquaheat Facility Services, part of Horizon Energy Group, is seeking a HVAC Maintenance Technician in Wellington to perform scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on HVAC systems across commercial and industrial sites.

You will conduct diagnostics, use hand and power tools, work independently or with a team, follow OH&S guidelines and be available for after-hours calls on a rotating roster. Minimum 5 years in HVAC trade and strong organisation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in the HVAC mechanical trade.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong organisational, multi-tasking and communication skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices and OH&S guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on HVAC systems across commercial and industrial sites.

• Follow health and safety procedures and provide professional service on client sites.

About the role:

Working Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm as part of our Wellington Facility Services team, as a HVAC Maintenance Technician, your key responsibilities include:

• Performing scheduled maintenance, servicing and repairs on HVAC systems across commercial and industrial sites
• Conducting inspections, diagnostics and corrective work to maintain system reliability
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively for mechanical and refrigeration tasks
• Completing work independently or as part of a team across various buildings and facilities
• Following all health and safety procedures and contributing to a safe work environment
• Providing professional, customer‑focused service while representing the company on client sites
• Being available for after‑hours and emergency call‑outs on a rotating roster
• Managing your own time effectively when working unsupervised to meet deadlines

About you:

This is an ideal opportunity for you to utilise or develop experience in:

• HVAC and mechanical servicing across diverse commercial and industrial environments
• Managing varied workloads and multi‑tasking across maintenance tasks
• Strengthening customer service capability in a service‑based environment
• Building technical skills in refrigeration, mechanical systems and general facility maintenance

Preferred requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the HVAC mechanical trade
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multi‑task
• High level of self‑motivation and professional presentation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Commitment to safe work practices and familiarity with OH&S guidelines
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt to changing environments, competing demands and unexpected events
• Strong judgement, planning and reporting skills
