Infinitas Talent – Auckland airport, North Island
We're excited to be partnering with a global retail operator that has established itself in New Zealand over recent years and continues to grow. They are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to take ownership of the local HR function. This is a rare opportunity to join a business that is still early in its NZ story, with the systems and structure in place to build on, and play a pivotal role in shaping its people strategy for the long term.
As the sole HR lead on the ground, you will report directly to the CEO, lead one direct report and support a workforce of around 370 people across New Zealand and a small team in Sydney. This is a hands on role where you'll be responsible for the full HR remit from employee relations and advisory through to recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and culture building. A key focus will be on operational and employment relations, where you'll not only manage cases with confidence but also coach and upskill managers to handle challenges effectively themselves. By building capability across the leadership team, you'll help embed a proactive, solutions-focused culture that supports both people and performance.
We're looking for someone who brings proven HR generalist experience and a strong background in ER, ideally gained in retail or a similarly fast-paced environment. You'll be confident working independently, making sound decisions, and influencing at all levels. This role also carries real ownership of HR systems and reporting, so you'll need to be strong on the tech side, with advanced Excel skills and the confidence to turn workforce data into insights the leadership team can act on. Just as important will be your ability to communicate with clarity, build trust quickly, and act as a genuine partner to the business.
This is a permanent role based at Auckland Airport, with paid parking on site and one to two days a week working from home depending on business requirements.
You must be a NZ/AU citizen or hold a valid NZ work visa.
