Job summary

New Zealand Police is seeking an HR Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term basis, based at Police National HQ in Wellington. The role requires strong administration and customer service skills, with the ability to handle confidential matters and support HR processes.

Successful applicants will join the HR Support Services team and contribute to efficient service delivery, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The position is Wellington-based and requires residency in the Wellington region.

About the role

Are you a passionate and positive self-starter who is looking for a challenge? We have a great opportunity in our Human Resources Support Services team based at Police National Head Quarters, Wellington. As an HR Assistant, you will demonstrate a high level of competence in the performance of all HR administrative duties. In addition, you will possess well developed interpersonal skills, strong communication skills and be able to provide excellent service to our customers and stakeholders. Your ability to be discrete in relation to confidential matters and the use of your initiative to solve complex tasks will be necessary for success in this role. We offer a great team and professional working environment.

  • A tertiary qualification is desirable but not essential.

Special requirements

This position is based in Wellington, and the successful applicant will need to reside in or be willing to relocate to the Wellington region. Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $64,161 and $66,975 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
