Job summary

DIALOG Fitzroy is seeking an on-site HSEQ Coordinator in Wellington to drive safety culture across our operations, working with maintenance, construction and engineering teams on diverse projects.

You will build relationships with frontline teams, lead toolbox talks, conduct inspections, support risk assessments, and assist with incident investigations. A background in heavy industry and SWMS/JHAs knowledge is preferred; we offer varied projects and a people-first safety culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, maintenance, industrial, or heavy industry environments.
• Exposure to HSEQ systems, audits, inspections, and site-based safety practices.
• Knowledge of SWMS/JHAs, permits to work, and practical risk management.
• HSEQ training or qualifications (minimum OHS Representative Training) or practical site safety experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confident engaging with people at all levels of the organization.
• Collaborative, solutions-focused approach.

About the Role

As a key member of our HSEQ team, you'll work alongside project managers, supervisors, tradespeople and clients to promote safe work practices and support continuous improvement across our operations.

• Knowledge of SWMS/JHAs, permits to work, and practical risk management
• Relevant HSEQ training or qualifications (minimum OHS Representative Training), or practical experience in a site-based safety role.
• Strong communication skills and relationship‑building skills
• The confidence to engage effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
