Job summary

WM New Zealand is seeking a safety-focused HSEQ leader to drive compliance across our sites. You will help protect people, the environment, and assets while advancing continuous improvement and sustainability.

You will conduct audits, manage risk assessments and incident investigations, develop safety documentation, and coordinate site training. Travel across regions for multi-site coverage.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation and risk management.
• Experience in safety audits and incident investigations.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to coach and influence safe behaviours.
• Experience coordinating compliance tasks in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to managers and staff to ensure HSEQ compliance.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and investigations.
• Develop and maintain safety documentation such as SOPs and JSEAs.
• Coordinate site-based HSEQ training and meetings.
• Liaise with regulators and auditors; manage incident cases.
• Support emergency plans, business continuity, risk registers, and environmental plans.
• Promote sustainability aligned with circular economy goals.
