Job summary

MAURI, a division of George Weston Foods NZ, is seeking an experienced HSE/Business Partner to influence leaders, build capability and drive a proactive safety culture across our Auckland operations.

Reporting to the HSE Manager NZ, you will partner with the Auckland Site and Functional Leaders to strengthen our safety culture, improve risk management practices and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.

Qualifications

  • A relevant Health & Safety qualification (Certificate, Diploma or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years' experience in Health, Safety and Environment roles.
  • Experience in manufacturing, food production, logistics or similar operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and risk management principles.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience driving behavioural and cultural change initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Environmental management experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and support leaders to strengthen safety leadership and accountability.
  • Drive behavioural safety initiatives and embed a proactive safety culture.
  • Provide practical HSE advice focused on risk reduction and continuous improvement.
  • Lead site audits, investigations, hazard management and compliance activities.
  • Support injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes.
  • Facilitate HSE training, inductions and capability-building initiatives.
  • Monitor HSE performance and analyse trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage contractor safety requirements, permit-to-work processes and capital project HSE oversight.
  • Support environmental reporting and governance requirements.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Arelevant Health & Safety qualification (Certificate, Diploma orequivalent)
