Job summary

Tribe Group is seeking a Senior Human Resources Advisor to act as a trusted partner across the organisation, providing advice and coaching on a broad range of people matters. You will tackle complex employment relations issues, contribute to strategic people initiatives and drive improvements across HR systems and payroll.

You will support and mentor the HR team, develop policies, and deliver data-driven insights to inform decisions, while ensuring compliance and strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

  • Broad generalist HR experience across employee lifecycle.
  • Ability to partner with leaders and provide sound advice.
  • Strong knowledge of NZ employment legislation and best practice.
  • Experience leading change initiatives within organisations.
  • Experience in performance management, investigations and disciplinary processes.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships.
  • Experience developing HR policies, frameworks and initiatives.
  • Experience contributing to learning and development programs.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with data insights.

About The Opportunity

We are partnering with a fabulous client to find them a new member of their HR team. As their Senior Human Resources Advisor, you'll be a trusted partner across the organisation, providing advice and coaching on a broad range of people matters.

You will be someone who is able to take on complex employment relations issues, contribute to strategic people initiatives and drive continuous improvement across HR systems, payroll, processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Providing senior-level HR and employment relations advice across the employee lifecycle.
  • Supporting organisational people initiatives, including remuneration reviews and engagement activities.
  • Developing and enhancing HR policies, procedures and frameworks.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of learning and development initiatives that build capability, support career growth and strengthen organisational performance.
  • Producing HR insights, reporting and data analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Supporting and mentoring HR team members while contributing to a high-performing and collaborative people function.
  • Ensuring legislative compliance and accuracy.
  • Supporting recruitment activities and talent initiatives if required.
  • Building trusted relationships across the organisation and influencing positive people outcomes.
What We Are Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical HR capability with sound judgement, excellent relationship management skills and a genuine commitment to Kaupapa Māori.

You’ll Ideally Have
  • Considerable generalist HR experience.
  • Proven experience partnering with leaders and providing advice across HR matters.
  • Strong knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change initiatives.
  • Experience leading performance management, workplace investigations and disciplinary processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships at all levels.
  • Experience developing HR policies, frameworks and people-focused initiatives.
  • Experience contributing to learning and development initiatives, including identifying capability needs, supporting development plans and promoting continuous learning across the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll and Microsoft Office applications.
Reo Māori
  • A desire and ability to practise correct pronunciation of Te Reo Māori.
Tikanga Māori
  • An understanding and living of Tikanga Māori on a day-to-day level.
