Job summary

Sudima Kaikōura is seeking a Full time Houseperson to join the Housekeeping team. You will help ensure clean linen, tidy hallways and pristine hotel conditions, reporting to the Executive Housekeeping Manager and Supervisors.

The wage is $24 per hour, with a fixed term contract and a minimum of 25 hours per week, though flexibility to 30 hours is expected across a rostered week including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• NZQF Level 1 qualification or compulsory secondary education (ANZSCO Skill Level 5).
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar housekeeping role.
• Ability to work a minimum of 30 hours across a rostered week (incl. weekends/holidays).
• Demonstrates pride in work and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene.
• Ensure fresh linen stock for Room Attendants at all times.
• Keep public areas clean and presentable.
• Clean interior and immediate exterior of buildings.
• Attend to public bathrooms and replenish products.
• Report maintenance needs and issues promptly.
• Provide a warm, friendly welcome to guests and assist with directions as needed.
• Keep storeroom neat and organized.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals per surface and safety regulations.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean carpets and curtains.
• Collect rubbish and manage waste areas.
• Strip and change bed linen as required.

We are currently seeking a Full time role Houseperson to join the Housekeeping team at Sudima Kaikoura. Working as a valuable member of the housekeeping team, performing tasks as assigned by the Executive Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Supervisors. It is your duty to make sure that clean linen is gathered and fully stocked for the housekeeping team, that hallways are tidy and free of rubbish and used linen, and ensure that the hotel is always kept in pristine condition.

The wage per hour for this role is $24 per hour. This is a fixed term role with a minimum of 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa

• Work to the highest standards of cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene
• Ensure fresh linen is available for Room Attendants at all times
• Maintain the cleanliness of public areas
• Cleaning the interior of buildings and the immediate outside areas
• Attend to public bathrooms and replenish bathroom products (e.g. soap, hand lotion)
• Report any technical issues and maintenance needs
• To provide a warm friendly welcome every time you come into contact with a guest and assist with directions if needed
• Ensure that the storeroom is kept neat & tidy at all times
• Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to H&S regulations and hotel requirements
• Sweeping, mopping and polishing floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, and cleaning curtains and upholstered furniture
• Picking up rubbish, emptying garbage containers, and taking contents to waste areas for removal
• Stripping and making beds, and changing bed linen

• NZQF Level 1 qualification, or compulsory secondary education (ANZSCO Skill Level 5)
• OR at least 2 years previous experience in a similar role
• Available to work a minimum of 30 hours flexibly across a rostered working week (Including weekends and public holidays)
• Takes pride in work and has exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, spot and resolve problems efficiently
• Willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests make the most of their day
• Exceptional grooming and hygiene standards
• Valid Right to Work in NZ
