Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora's Paediatrics team at Rotorua Hospital invites applications for a Paediatric Senior House Officer position. You will join a supportive team and work within a recently refurbished Children's unit, gaining exposure to acute and general paediatric and neonatal care.

Applicants must hold MCNZ registration or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, and have at least two years post-qualification experience.

Qualifications

• MCNZ registration or eligibility for general/provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
• A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience.
• Keen interest in providing acute and general paediatric care to the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute and general medical care to paediatric patients in a regional hospital.
• Collaborate with consultants, senior registrars, junior registrars and nursing staff in a supportive team.

Join the Paediatric team at a recently refurbished modernised Childrens unit.Enjoy the benefits of working in a regional hospital, experience acute general paediatric and neonatal medicine, with a supportive team of consultants, senior registrar house officers, junior registrars and medical students and nursing staff.Rotorua SCBU is the only level 2 unit staffed with a neonatal nurse practitioner with wealth of neonatal experience and huge support to our junior staff. Your roster will allow for you to enjoy all that Rotorua has to offer with longer summers and shorter winters.

About the Location

Our department consists of Paediatricians with a wide variety of sub‑speciality interests from neonatal, community paediatrics, to mental health, and a supportive team of specialist nurses, and visiting sub‑specialists.Large proportion of our paediatric population in our area we serve is Māori and tamariki and their whanau from low socioeconomic background with complex health needsFor more information on living and working in Lakes, click here
