Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is recruiting for a fixed-term, full-time Project Manager / Change Manager for the Pihi Kaha programme. Based on the Whangārei Hospital campus, you will lead service transformation to shape future hospital facilities and care models across Te Tai Tokerau.

You will plan, engage stakeholders, manage change, and realise benefits, partnering with clinicians and operational leaders to embed new workflows and sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in project management, change management, service transformation, or a related field.
• Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical and executive leaders.
• Experience leading change initiatives, developing implementation plans, and supporting teams through transformation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and communication skills with confidence presenting to diverse audiences.
• Understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead service transformation initiatives that support planning and delivery of future hospital facilities and models of care across Te Tai Tokerau.
• Guide development of future-state workflows, identify opportunities for service improvement, and embed change across teams.
• Oversee project planning, stakeholder engagement, change management, benefits realisation, and implementation planning.
