Nelson Marlborough Health at Nelson Hospital is seeking a casual Hospital Dental Assistant to join a supportive team. You will provide chairside assistance to dentists and dental specialists, supporting both clinic and theatre settings, and care for patients across all ages.
The role is casual with as-needed shifts to cover leave, busy periods, and service demands. Typical shifts run Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm; no on-call work.

About the Role
As a Hospital Dental Assistant,you will providechairside assistance for dentists and dental specialists providing treatmentfor both in-patient and out-patients, eligible for hospital level oral healthservices. The role includes both clinical services in dental clinics andTheatres with supporting administrative duties.
This is a casual position, working on an as-required basisto support the service during periods of leave, increased demand, and servicecover requirements. Shifts are typically worked Monday to Friday between 8.00amand 5.00pm. No on-call work is required.

About the Team/Service/ Location
We’re a vibrant team of 5 Dental Assistants supporting 6 Dentistsand Consultant Dental Specialists providing a diverse range of dental treatment. We work in well-equipped facilities and are focused onproviding a high standard of general oral health care to our patients/clients.
This role is mainly based at Nelson Hospital, however formtime-to-time you may be required to work in the wider Nelson/Tasman/Marlboroughregion.
