Job summary

Egmont Honey in Taihape, Manawatu District, North Island, is seeking reliable, hands-on workers for a six-month fixed-term period. You will support honey extraction, prepare materials and equipment, and operate factory gear after training.

The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely around honey and production machinery. This full-time position offers full training, teamwork support, and the chance to gain experience in a well-established New Zealand honey

Qualifications

  • Reliable, punctual, and ready to contribute.
  • Flexible to work varying hours during busy periods.
  • Able to follow safety procedures and maintain hygiene.
  • Physically capable of demanding factory tasks.
  • Previous experience in food production is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with honey extraction and processing.
  • Prepare honey, equipment and work areas for production.
  • Operate approved factory equipment after training.
  • Paint, assemble and prepare beehive boxes, frames and other equipment.
  • Clean and sanitise factory areas, equipment, vehicles and beekeeping equipment.
  • Water-blast and perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Move raw materials, packaging, finished goods and equipment safely.
  • Assist with stock counts, rotation and storage.
  • Report equipment faults, safety hazards and quality concerns.
  • Support factory, warehouse and apiary teams as priorities change.
