Job summary

Carters Whitianga is seeking an experienced Hiab driver for a fixed-term role through to January 2027. You will load and deliver timber and building products to customers across the Whitianga area, upholding safety and outstanding service.

Applicants should hold a Hiab licence, a Forklift F Endorsed licence with OSH, a current NZ Class 1 licence, and knowledge of load restraint. The role offers a guaranteed 40-hour week and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Hiab licence and hands-on Hiab experience.
• Forklift F Endorsed licence with OSH certificate.
• Current full Class 1 New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Solid knowledge of load restraint and NZ load securing rules.
• Experience navigating tight residential construction sites.
• Team-oriented with strong customer service focus.
• Safety-conscious with good regulatory awareness.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently load and deliver orders to residential and commercial sites.
• Operate a Hiab crane with attention to load limits and rigging safety.
• Provide excellent customer service on-site and off-site.
• Support the yard team with loading/unloading as required.
• Recommend suitable products to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the branch.
