Job summary

LIC is a farmer-owned co-operative supporting New Zealand’s dairy industry. The Herd Test Technicians role involves delivering and installing herd testing equipment in dairy sheds around Ashburton, then returning the next day to collect samples and equipment.

It’s a fast-paced, outdoor role with a 9-month seasonal peak and flexible hours. Ideal candidates will have a clean Class 1 licence, strong communication, reliability, and excellent time management, with attention to detail and flexibility

Responsibilities

About the Role:

Our Herd Test Technicians use LIC vehicles to deliver and install Herd Testing equipment in dairy sheds throughout the region. They then return the following day to collect the completed samples and equipment. This is a fast-paced role which requires excellent time management skills and physical strength as handling heavy equipment is a must.

Working in Ashburton region, this is a short-term role to cover the seasonal peak for around 9 months.The role will suit individuals who love being outdoors and have flexibility with their working hours.

About You:

To hit the ground running in this role, you will ideally know your way around a milking shed and have a reasonable level of fitness and physical strength. Other key attributes are:

• A clean full Class 1 driver's licence.

• Exceptional time management abilities.
