Qualifications

  • Relevant automotive qualification, preferably a Diesel Mechanic.
  • Proven experience in heavy vehicle or truck mechanical repairs.
  • Experience with franchise truck dealerships is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues.
  • Commitment to quality workmanship, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Genuine passion for the truck and heavy vehicle industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
  • Truck licence or forklift licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general servicing, mechanical repairs, and maintenance on heavy trucks and commercial vehicles.
  • Perform advanced fault finding and diagnostic work using modern equipment and technology.
  • Complete mechanical and electrical repairs to manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Inspect, test, and identify vehicle issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and ensure all repairs are completed safely.
  • Work collaboratively with technicians, service advisors, and parts department teams.
  • Provide professional support and communication when dealing with customers.
  • Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Stay updated with evolving vehicle technology through ongoing training.
  • Support efficient workshop operations and achieve service targets.
