Job summary

Southern Districts Towing in Takanini, North Island, seeks an experienced Heavy Haulage Operator. You will salvage and transport large vehicles, load and unload equipment, and operate various trucks and trailers.

The role requires a Class 5 driver’s license with at least 2 years of proven heavy haulage or salvage experience, roadranger and Hiab exposure, and the ability to work on-call, weekends and nights. Full training is provided, and a competitive remuneration package is offered.

Qualifications

• Hold a class 5 driver's license with 2 years of provable heavy haulage or salvage experience.
• Roadranger and Hiab experience preferred.
• Understand heavy haulage regulations and safety.
• Be physically fit and able to pass a criminal history check.

Responsibilities

• Salvage of machinery and large vehicles.
• Transportation of large vehicles.
• Loading and unloading large vehicles.
• Reading and understanding heavy permits.
• Driving vehicle combinations according to regulations and company procedures.
• Operating various trucks and equipment.
• Piloting duties as required.
• Inspecting trucks for defects and ensuring safe operating conditions.
• Maintaining compliance records.
