Job summary

Tradestaff in Wellington is seeking skilled Fitter-Welders for heavy fabrication projects across the region. You will work on large-scale fabrication, welding and installation across industrial sites, with potential shift work as discussed with shortlisted candidates.

Ideal applicants have a minimum of 3 years’ experience or NZQF Level 4 qualification, strong MIG/stick welding abilities, and the capacity to read engineering drawings. Own tools and reliable transport are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience or NZQF Level 4 qualification.
• Strong MIG and stick welding skills; TIG is a bonus.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Own tools and reliable transport; pass pre-employment drug test.
• Two recent work references.

Responsibilities

• Heavy fabrication and structural welding to spec.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• MIG and stick welding; TIG experience a bonus.
• Operate cutting, grinding, and forming tools.
• Fit, tack, and assemble large steel components.
• Site installation work as required.
• Maintain high health and safety standards.
