Job summary

Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd in Hamilton is seeking a skilled heavy truck mechanic to diagnose and repair mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance and inspections, and mentor apprentices. You will work with cutting-edge diagnostic tools in a modern facility, with rostered Saturday work and occasional after-hours callouts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with heavy-duty trucks.
• Strong commitment to safety and a proactive mindset.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• NZQA in Heavy Road Transport and willingness to commit to the team.
• Desirable Class 5 HT license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy trucks using diagnostic tools.
• Conduct routine maintenance, service and inspections.
• Mentor apprentices and share knowledge with the team.
• Be available for after-hours callouts and travel for work/training as required.
