Job summary

University of Otago seeks a Clinical Research Nurse/Coordinator to manage investigator-led and collaborative research projects at the Christchurch Heart Institute. The role covers clinical, laboratory, administrative and data management tasks in a stimulating environment.

You will coordinate study activities, obtain informed consent, recruit participants and ensure visits occur within agreed timeframes, with strong emphasis on governance and Good Clinical Practice.

Qualifications

• Degree in a scientific or nursing discipline with relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical, laboratory, administrative, data and statistical requirements of research projects.
• Explain study requirements and risks to participants and obtain informed consent.
• Recruit and support participants to meet study targets and ensure visits and procedures occur on time.
• Provide information, education and support to participants, whānau and carers.
• Coordinate research activities with investigators and other health professionals.
• Monitor and report screening, recruitment and outcomes.
