Job summary

Te Whatu Ora Waikato is seeking a Nurse Coordinator in Gastroenterology Research to support the initiation and ongoing management of clinical trials. You will coordinate investigators, sponsors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality research that aligns with GCP and Te Whatu Ora policies.

The role emphasizes patient enrolment, budget preparation, timely study start‑ups, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Excellent time management and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communicator with patient-centric approach.
• Experience coordinating care in clinical practice is desirable.
• Previous Gastrointestinal experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Previous Research and clinical trial experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate investigator-initiated, collaborative and pharmaceutical trials ensuring timely start.
• Prepare resources and documentation to enrol patients onto trials per protocol.
• Develop and negotiate budgets for new and existing trials to ensure financial performance.
• Liaise with collaborative and external organisations.
• Adhere to Good Clinical Practice, SOPs and Te Whatu Ora Health NZ policies.
