Job summary

Radius Care is hiring a part-time Health Care Assistant at our Hamilton facility. You will provide compassionate personal care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse and help residents with daily activities, building relationships with residents and families.

Full training is provided, with opportunities to gain NZQA qualifications and career progression. A rotating 24/7 roster applies, including weekends; visa restrictions apply for part-time roles.

Qualifications

• New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing and experience are desirable.
• People skills and empathy for residents and families are important.
• Good written and verbal communication skills expected.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts required.

Responsibilities

Location:RadiusGlaisdale, 50 Hare Puke Drive, Flagstaff, Hamilton

Hours of work: Part-time, 6 hours per week (12 hours per fortnight), over a rotating 24/7 roster, including weekends and public holidays

Note: Radius Care cannot support work visas/visa changes for part-time HCAs. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights and preferably at least 6 months left until expiry.

Pay rate: Subject to completed recognized caregiving qualifications

About the role:

Provide exceptional care to our residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families. Work closely with a team to implement our individual care plans. Full training provided.

Duties include:

• Undertaking personal cares, while encouraging residents to make decisions that promote independence

• Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner

• Responding quickly to resident requests, providing them with useful, relevant information

• Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records

• Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes
