Job summary

Qube Ports NZ in Bluff Port is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support our operational teams, promote safety performance and injury prevention across sites. You will help implement the Safety, Health & Sustainability System, coordinate risk assessments, audits and safety communications, and act as a liaison with unions, customers and government agencies.

Location: Bluff Port. This is a full-time permanent role with Monday–Friday hours and flexibility.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Health & Safety (Diploma or NC) or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication, planning and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and incident management systems.
• Demonstrated initiative, self-management and continuous improvement.
• Comfort with shifts and multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Support operational teams in implementing and maintaining Qube’s Safety, Health & Sustainability System.
• Coordinate hazard identification, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Maintain oversight of the incident database and ensure timely reporting (INX).
• Assist with audits and compliance requirements.
• Produce and distribute safety communications and updates.
• Monitor site safety practices across NZ operational sites.
• Liaise with internal teams, unions, customers and government agencies as needed.
• Provide backup support to NZ Health & Safety Manager and GM Health & Safety.
