Job summary

Canstaff in the Ashburton/Timaru area seeks a Health and Safety Advisor focused on sales and service to guide local businesses through their health and safety journey.

You will travel to client sites daily to assess needs, develop and implement practical safety programs, and build lasting relationships as a trusted subject matter expert. A tertiary WHS qualification and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Organisation savvy with exceptionally effective time management strategies.
• Incident investigation experience required.
• Strong knowledge and working experience in high‑risk safety environments.
• Experience delivering safety related presentations and training to business owners and employees.

Responsibilities

• Advise on development and implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives.
• Travel to client sites daily to assess Health and Safety needs and practices.
• Engage with local businesses to identify where value can be added.
• Build relationships and establish yourself as the subject matter expert.
