Job summary

HEB Construction is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to support our Wellington and Hawke’s Bay operations. You’ll lead investigations, deliver training, and monitor site safety across multiple projects, collaborating with managers, workers, and subcontractors to raise safety standards.

You’ll bring at least three years in construction HSE, strong legislative knowledge, and excellent communication skills to drive best practices and a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in a construction health and safety environment.
• Proven experience in investigations, monitoring, training, and coaching.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a wide range of audiences.
• A collaborative, team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Providing effective health and safety support and advice across allocated business units within your region.
• Leading and supporting high-quality incident investigations.
• Building strong relationships with managers, workers, and subcontractors.
• Delivering health and safety training across your region.
• Conducting site inspections and providing monitoring and coaching.
• Collating performance data and maintaining regional reporting.
