Job summary

Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Analyst to support health service planning and performance improvement across New Zealand. You will collect, cleanse, analyze, and interpret data to generate reliable evidence that informs national and regional decisions.

Working with the Health Planning & Insights team, you will produce dashboards, reports, and visualisations, monitor system performance, and communicate findings to diverse stakeholders to drive equitable health outcomes and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in business analysis, data science, statistics, public health, or related field.
• 1–5 years of analytical or data-focused experience, or equivalent capability.
• Strong ability to collect, clean, interpret, and validate data for insights.
• Experience with dashboards and data visualization tools (Power BI, Excel, Qlik, R).

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for health service planning and performance improvements.
• Collect, prepare, analyse, and interpret data to generate evidence for decisions.
• Produce accurate reports, dashboards and visualisations; monitor performance trends.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and senior analysts to communicate findings clearly.
• Identify data quality issues and contribute to data governance and improvements.
