Job summary

Fried eggs on Toast Ltd in Nelson is seeking a Chef - Head / Sous & Chef de Partie to lead kitchen operations across five sites. The role reports to the Executive Chef and Owners, with a guaranteed 30 hours minimum per week and potential for up to 50 hours during peaks.

Shift work on a 7-day rotating roster and visa sponsorship available for suitable candidates. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years relevant cookery experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to high standards of food

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years relevant cookery experience in restaurants.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Solid understanding of health and safety in kitchens.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors kitchen budgets, labour, ingredients and equipment costs.
• Designs and plans menus based on seasonal trends and costs.
• Oversees recruitment, development and training of chefs and kitchen staff.
• Assigns tasks and responsibilities to chefs and cooks.
• Oversees preparation and presentation of dishes; ensures quality standards.
