Job summary

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency in Wellington seeks an experienced leader for the Regulatory System Evidence & Insights team. You will shape how evidence informs regulatory decisions, lead the ongoing development of the Regulatory Evidence Centre, and oversee end-to-end reviews of regulatory components to strengthen oversight.

The role focuses on translating multiple data sources into actionable insights, leading a high-performing team, and working across NZTA and the wider regulatory sector

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading evidence, insight, risk or intelligence functions in complex environments.
• Strong track record of building engaged, high-performing teams and developing people.
• Ability to translate complex information into practical insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing evidence and insights team.
• Deliver evidence and insights to support risk-based regulatory decision-making.
• Maintain a system-wide view of regulatory risks, issues, threats and opportunities.
• Lead regulatory risk assessments and the Regulatory Evidence Centre.
• Identify emerging signals, trends and future regulatory risks.
