Job summary

Tūaropaki Trust is recruiting for a Head of Energy, a newly established senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction and operational performance of the energy investments across power generation, steam supply and network infrastructure.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Energy will have direct accountability for the performance of our energy portfolio, while also helping identify future opportunities and build strong relationships across the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Must have proven leadership in energy sector.
• Strong understanding of electricity markets and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in commercial strategy and portfolio management.
• Stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction and oversee energy investments across power generation, steam supply and networks.
• Drive performance of the energy portfolio and identify opportunities for growth.
• Build and maintain relationships across the energy sector and with regulators and partners.
• Report to COO and work with the leadership team to align energy strategy with overall business goals.

Tūaropaki Trust is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices of Te Ture Whenua Māori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Whānau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners.

Tūaropaki Trust is recruiting for a Head of Energy, with the recruitment process being managed on our behalf by an external recruitment partner January Group.

This newly established senior leadership role will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational performance of Tūaropaki’s significant energy investments across power generation, steam supply and network infrastructure.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Energy will have direct accountability for the performance of our energy portfolio, while also helping identify future opportunities and build strong relationships across the energy sector.

We are looking for an experienced energy professional with strong commercial capability, sound knowledge of the electricity market and regulatory environment, and ideally geothermal experience.
