Job summary

The Ministry of Education is seeking a General Manager, Workforce Experience & Delivery, a senior leadership role within Te Pou Ohumahi Mātauranga | Education Workforce. You will lead and manage workforce services across multiple programmes to support the education sector, learners and educators across Aotearoa.

You will drive capability, foster an inclusive culture, and partner with stakeholders across the public sector to deliver outcomes that benefit schools and the education workforce.

Qualifications

• Senior leader with ability to turn strategy into delivery at an operational level.
• Experience delivering multiple complex programmes and managing budgets.
• Ability to develop and implement integrated strategic and operational plans.
• Proven ability to drive organisational change aligned to priorities.
• Experience building inclusive, diverse teams and open culture.
• Strong relationship-building with colleagues, stakeholders, Māori and Ministers.
• Sound political awareness and navigating government processes.
• Understanding of NZ education sector workforce needs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of specialists managing contracts, scholarships and awards.
• Deliver sector communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Use data to develop insights to improve customer experience and inform service improvement.
• Evaluate performance of initiatives and measure outcomes.
