Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is seeking a Service Group Owner - Database Engineering to lead the Database Engineering function across Infrastructure Services and Digital Workplace. You will shape the roadmap, drive resilience, and ensure secure, reliable database capabilities with cost efficiency.

You will engage senior stakeholders, align priorities, and build a high-performing team focused on ownership and continuous improvement while partnering with business and technology units across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise technology, infrastructure, platform or database engineering in complex environments.
• Ability to set strategic direction, lead service group planning and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Knowledge of database technologies, platform operations, resilience, lifecycle management and service performance.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate the service group vision and roadmap for database engineering.
• Lead across stakeholders to align priorities and deliver secure, reliable, and cost-effective database capabilities.
• Coach and develop the engineering team to build a high-performing, ownership-driven culture.
