Job summary

Marama Labs in Wellington is seeking a senior Hardware Engineering Lead to own the full hardware lifecycle of CloudSpec, from design and development through production and continuous improvement. You will serve as a key technical leader in our Wellington office and solve complex hardware problems end to end.

The role requires strong CAD capability (Fusion 360, SolidWorks), systems engineering experience across hardware and firmware, and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with complex hardware or instrumentation products.
• Systems engineering experience spanning hardware and firmware.
• Hands-on by nature; capable of bench work and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardware engineering lifecycle for CloudSpec from design to production and improvement.
• Define and lead test-driven development practices across hardware engineering.
• Manage CAD environment and design documentation to a high standard.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable, scalable, and delivered to quality.
• Lead procurement of R&D components and manage supplier relationships.
• Contribute to regulatory alignment (CE) for hardware development.
